When asked in the House of Commons to explain the outflow of, gold from Britain to the United States, which has exceeded £250,000,000 in 18 months, the Financial Secretary of the Treasury, Captain Crookshank, said that the United States had had a favourable. visible balance of about £280,000,000 in that period.
