ACTIVITY DURING THE WEEK
The annual staff dance of Messrs. Teagle Smith and Sons, Ltd.,"was held in the Southern Colledge studio recenty, the very large number of people attending spending a very enjoyable evening. Nicholson, and A. Sloan. AT THE MAYFAIR CABARET. The annual staff dance of Whitehead and Pears, which was held at the Mayfair Cabaret on Wednesday night, was attended by a large number of dancers. The cabaret was decorated for the occasion with cartoons of popular songs. A hula dance by Miss Stepleski was much appreciated. The official party included Mr. and Mrs. J. Pears (the latter wearing fuchsia georgette with a coat to match), Mr. and Mrs. H. Kain, Misses S. Williams, A. Beere, S. Fraser, M. Robertson, and Messrs. F. C. Pears, T. Ennis, B. Fitzgerald, G. Williams, and N. Instone. The committee comprised Miss E. Young (in black ring velvet and white stiffened lace), and Miss K. Cain (wearing black faconne moire). Sullivan, was guest., of honour at the dance given recently in St. Francis's Hall by the1 Department of Industries and Commerce, Tourist and Publicity branch. There were nearly four hundred guests in the hall, which had been decorated with posters, enlarged coloured photographs, and bunting for the occasion. Palms were arranged on the stage, and spring flowers decorated the tables in the supper-room. The official party included Mr. and Mrs. W. Sleight, Mr. and Mrs. H. Digby Smith, Mr. E. H. Langford, Mr. S. J. Collett and Miss Collett, Mr. L. J. Schmitt, and the dance committee comprised Misses ' J. Griffen, Bryce, B. Henderson, A. Dick, B. Gapes, Messrs. C. R. For the one blob of colour on the perfectly plain black suit clip a bull'seye red and white target, with a whole shaft of golden arrows dangling from it.
