NEW APPOINTMENTS
Notification is contained in the Gazette of the following appointments, promotions, etc., in'the New Zealand Military Forces:—
Colonel H. B. Maunsell, 0.E.E., E.D., is appointed to command the 2nd N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade.
Colonel J. LI. Saunders, D.5.0., V.D., is appointed to command the 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade.
Colonel S. D. Mason, E.D., is appointed to command the 3rd N.Z. Infantry Brigade.
Lieut.-Colonel L. C. Chaytor. M.C., V.D., from the Reserve of Officers, Nel-son-Marlborough Mounted Rifles, to be Colonel, and is appointed to command the 3rd N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade.
Lieut-Colonel B. W. H. Smart, Queen Alexandra's (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the regiment.
Major G. S. Wilson, Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the regiment.
Major D. A. C. Lilburne, E.D., to be Lieut.-Colonel, and is appointed to command the Ist Battalion, Wellington West Coast Regiment.
Lieut.-Colonel A. J. M. Manson, M.C., E.D., Hawke's Bay Regiment, relinquishes command of the Ist Battalion and' is transferred to the Reserve of Officers.
Major J. H. Irving, Hawke's Bay Reginient, is appointed to command the Ist Battalion. .
Lieut.'Colonel F. S. Varnham, M,C, E.D., Taranaki Regiment, is appointed to command the Ist Battalion.
Waikato Mounted Rifles.—Major J. F. Potter, V.D., from the Nelson-Marl-borough Mounted Rifles, to be Major.
Regiment of N.Z. Artillery.—Lieut. H. H. Babington, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the 17th Medium Battery.
Corps of N.Z. Engineers.—L. H. S. Hirst, A.M.1.C.E., to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 2nd Field Company. __________
