Mr Bernfeld, who conducted, the classes, remarked on the excellent progress made by the students, the examination papers showing a high standard for the short, time the members had been learning. In giving a talk on "Spanish Customs," Mr. Bernfeld told of the quaint relationship between host and guest, wherein it was customary for the host to make a gift to the guest of anything that appealed to him. To retrieve any treasures lost in this way. the unfortunate host had to return the visit and show an interest in his own article, which was ->ri returned to him.
