"NOTABLE YEAR"
ANGLICAN DIOCESE
The Vicar-general, the Yen. Archdeacon W. Bullock, concluded his presidential address at the opening of the Wellington diocesan synod this afternoon on a note of buoyancy and gratitude.
"You will be glad to know," he said, "that the missionary quota of the diocese, plus the 12_ per cent, that was asked for, has this year been raised. We can offer our congratulations, not only to the parishes in vhe diocese which have helped, but to the missionary committee and to Mr. Long, the indefatigable organising secretary.
"When we remember what has been raised for our centenary appeal; when we recollect that there has never been less debt for 25 years in our parish accounts; and when we add to this the fact that the missionary quota has been fully raised, I think we may say, without pride, but with humble thanksgiving, that it has been a notable year. May the coming year find us advancing equally well the work of our Master and His kingdom."
