MANAWATU BEATS INTER-HOUSE

WATERSIDE LOSE TO HOSPITAL

The principal Association football game in Wellington on Saturday afternoon was the return meeting, on the Basin Reserve, of the Manawatu representative side and the Wellington Inter-house Association representatives. The former team, which recently won the Brown Shield, was too good for the local players, defeating them in a keen game by 3 goals to 2.

At Auckland the Wellington team was defeated by Auckland. 3-2, in its challenge for the F.A. Trophy.

In local first A division championship games Hospital were responsible for a mild surprise by defeating Waterside, until recently championship leaders, by 2 goals to 0, and Diamond, bottom team on the ladder, drew with Marist, 3-all.

Institute Old Boys beat Training College 6-1 in the first B division, and Nada had a runaway 8-0 win over Scottish Wanderers. Miramar Rangers took the winning points from Stop Out by the only goal of the match, and Lower Hutt beat Onslow, 5-1.

Wellington games were played in excellent football weather.
