SLY GROG-SELLING

ASHBURTON, This Day,
In the Magistrate's Court today, Harold Price was fined £20 on a charge of sly grog-selling. The Magistrate said that there were so many cases in Ashburton that if fines were not taken seriously he would have to impose terms of imprisonment.
A fine of £2 and costs was imposed upon Fandallah Khouri, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, chai-ged with selling milk below standard.
A line of £5 and costs was imposed upon Albert Hawes, who-appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with aiding the unlawful supply of liquor.
