There was a large attendance at the recent twenty-second annual meeting of the Island Bay Bowling Club. ' In opening the. proceedings Mr. W. Kerr made feeling reference to the loss sustained by the club in the deaths of Messrs. G. P. Burns and G. W. Key, and those present paid a tribute to their memory.

Gallagher, F. J. Jones, jW. Kerr, A. C. E. Loadsman, H. R. INicholls, H. C. Qsborne, and T. G. ißicketts;. delegate to ttu. Wellington j Bowling Centre, Mr. H. F. Clarke. j The subscription for the season will ibe £4 13s. reducible to £4 4s if paid by November 1, 1939, and noyice members will pay £2 14s. i Messrs. F. A. Earnshaw, H. C. Parisons. and V. Recce were appointed selectors for' Saturday matches, Mr. H. R. Nicholls selector for Junior Pennants, and Mr. D. Munro selector for midweek games. It was decided to support the same system of playing the pennants as prevailed last year and to seek the same representation. Members decided to revert to tne. sectional system of play for all club and champion matches. j Sunday play will be under the control of Messrs. E. M. Gallagher, F. J. I Jones, H. C. Parsons, and V. Recce. I A change has been made in the order of play for Saturdays and orie round of percentage fours will be drawn at ',1.45 p.m., to be followed by a round of champion lours commencing not earlier than 4.15 p.m. I In anticipation of many visitors : during the Exhibition period, Mr. D. j Munro was appointed reception officer. Votes of thanks were passed, to the retiring president, Mr. W. Kerr, and Messrs. R. Craig and D. H. Taylor, committeemen who did not seek reelection.
