RETURNS AND REPORTS
(By Telegraphs-Press Association.* ■ DUNEDIN, July 5. . The Waitahu Mining Company reports a final wash-up in No. 18 paddock of 72 ounces for 21 shifts, making a total from the paddock of 209 ounces 2dwt. GREY RIVER. The Grey River dredge reports a return of 194 ounces frora 85,950 cubic yards worked in 130 hours. ALEXANDER MNES. Alexander Mines, Ltd., reports gold returns for the month of June, 1939, as follows:—Battery department—3Bo tons of ore crushed for 1360z 6dwt of melted gold. Cyanide department—232 tons of sand treated for 31bz 18dwt bullion. Total estimated value, £1176. In addition nine tons of concentrates were saved valued at £265. In estimating the above values gold has been taken at 150s per fine ounce. UNA HILL GOLD MINE. Una Hill Consolidated reports: During the week ended June. 30 good progress made with crosscut towards head of No. 2 incline. The gold-bearing leader encountered near the No. 4 adit level should come in again at the end of this crosscut. The Minister of Mines has approved an extension in time of six months for payments under the subsidy agreement.
