NAVAL RESERVISTS' CRUISE
When the cruiser Achilles leaves Auckland today to take the GovernorGeneral (Viscount Galway) for a tour of inspection of several Pacific Island groups, she will also have on board a party of Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve ratings, states the "New Zealand Herald." About 15 of them have been given special permission to make the cruise in order,to receive extended sea training. This method of obtaining the training is being made increasingly available to the reservists, and almost every time one of the ships of the New Zealand Squadron leaves port for a visit to the Islands or to Australia detachments from the reserve also make tha cruise.
