Schaef, one of the pioneers' of flying in Wellington, was elected a • life member of the Wellington Aero Club at the annual meeting last even? ingCongratulations on the honour that was conferred upon him by the King in the recent birthday honours list for " his services to education, were extended to Professor Sir Thomas Hunter at the annual graduation ceremony at Massey Agricultural College yesterday. The Council of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, at its meeting this week, adopted a resolution congratulating Professor Hunter. It was mentioned that such a congratulation ■came very appropriately from the . society after its long association with ; Sir Thomas Hunter on Universitymatters with which the' society was concerned. Mr. W. H. Ingrams, resident adviser to the Sultan of Mukalla, has left on a visit to Malaya and India, states a British Official Wireless message from .' Rugby. % Mr. H..D. Acland, Christchurch, was a passenger from the south this morn- , ing. Mr. H. H. Dobie, manager at Dunedin for the Union Steam Ship Company, accompanied by Mrs. Dobie, arrived at •' Wellington from the south this morning. Mr. A. S. Mr. T. F. Reilly, of the literary staff of the "Dominion," has been appointed to the Hansard staff. Mr. Reilly has represented the "Dominion" in the Parliamentary Press Gallery for the past ten years. He is a former chairman of the Gallery. In 1936 he accompanied the Government delegation to Western Samba as the" special representative of the United Press Association.
