CHINESE ORPHAN
REMARKABLE PROGRESS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day
The Kaikohe District High School adopted a Chinese boy at the beginning of the year, providing a home and the money required for his education. ■ At the Education Board's meeting today it was stated that the boy, seven years old, had speedily adapted himself to his new environment. He had learnt to speak English equal to others in the class, and he had also acquired a smattering of Maori. His progress is regarded as remarkable.
