The exhibition given by the Hutt. and Athletic secctsid division fifteens at the Hutt Recreation^ Ground was spoilt by poor passing, cros3-fleld) running, and undirected kicking. This was especially the case In a>;,>scofeless first spell, wrien much of the play; was straggling and uninteresting. The forwards worked willingly and it was in the vanguard that the highest'standard of the game was reached. There /was a degree of improvement after the ctoange-over, but spasmodic individual dashes predominated. The Athletic forwards prepared the way for a try by Badland, and /Day scored a try,1 for Hutt, the match endiing: Hutt 3, Athletib 3. The referee was Mr. I. Ramsay.
