NEW,PLYMOUTH, May 12.
, The first week's activity for 170 pupils of the Education Department's correspondence school attending a vacation course in New Plymouth has included a range of subjects which covers every phase of social and practical education.
Apart from routine subjects, which themselves develop personal contact between pupil and teacher, many outings and activities of a social nature have been arranged. Visits to the port, parks, and the observatory, and attendance at Scout and Guide meetings will be followed by visits to the beach and Mount Egmont and inspections of fertiliser or freezing works. A sports meeting will be held and a concert presented by pupils. Particular attention is being paid to health, New Plymouth dentists having given their services, and a complete medical examination is being made.
