SKINS AND HIDES SALE

I The usual catalogues of hides and | sheepskins were offered at the fortnightly sale held by Wellington brokers yesterday. Bidding for sheepskins was animated, and competition strong. Prices for all sorts advanced on last sale, ranging from to fd a Ib. Half and quarter wools, in some cases, were a full penny alb up. With the exception of extra heavy ox, practically all classes of hides advanced on last sale's prices. Light, medium, and heavy ox were l-8d up—extra heavies did 'not maintain last sale's high level of values, and eased by id to fd a lb. Cow hides were 3-8 dto id a lb above last sale. Calf and yearling. 3d to id better, while heavy kip advanced 3-8 d a lb.
