CHURCH MEETING
ST. CUTHBERT'S, BERHAMPORE
The vicar, the Rev. F. A. Tooley, presided at the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Cuthbert's Church, Berhampore, held in the school hall last week, and there was a good attendance and keen enthusiasm was shown.
Officers were elected as follows:— Wardens, vicar's Mr. A. P. Collyer, people's Mr. S. R. Crothers; vestry, Messrs. G. Barthgate, T. Bohlson, J. Chamberlain, C. W. B. Edwards, A. Hamilton, W. M. Haycraft, W. Husband, H. E. H. Gill, W. Harris, and R. 8011.
The annual report showed that all the church organisations had functioned very effectively. In all spheres of work continued progress was shown. A hearty vote of thanks and appreciation was unanimously passed to all those who had taken part in the year's work, in the parish.
The earnest and whole-hearted service given by the vicar was cordially acknowledged by the meeting, speakers emphasising the wonderful help and inspiration he. had been to all organisations. Special mention was made of his Easter gift to the church of a beautiful blue carpet runner, a very useful adjunct to the furnishings of the building.
The meeting closed with the Benediction, after which members were entertained at supper by the ladi__.
