AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, April 20,
The fact that not only had the city's budget been balanced, but that the financial year had closed with a credit balance of £20,414, as against a debit balance of £14,828 a year ago, was announced by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, at a meeting of the City Council.
Sir Ernest recalled that a year ago he. had said that, as an outcome of the year's operations in particular and of three years' prudent administration in general, a balanced budget for the city was in sight. He was now able to advise the council that this had been achieved and that there was a substantial credit balance at March 31.
