USEFUL IN NEW COLOURS
Gold Chase, who was recently purchased by Mr. J. Austin, a patron of E. W. Watson's stable at Awapuni, is down to make his first appearance for his new owner in the maiden event at Waverley tomorrow. While trained at Greenmeadows he showed a lot of promise, and, as he was unlucky in his last start to be beaten by Screen Lord at Napier Park six weeks ago, he is likely to be well supported for his race tomorrow. .
Gold Chase is a three-year-old chestnut gelding by Hunting Song out of the Absurd—Fairy Gold mare Unreasonable, hence he is a full-brother to Reasonable and a half-brother to Grumpy and Lucullus Boy. In his five previous starts he carried the colours of Miss G. Twist, daughter of the late Mr. C. E. Twist, who bred him.
