CUSTOMS AGENTS
A SOCIETY FORMED
DOMINION EXECUTIVE

AUCKLAND, April 19
The formation of a New Zealand Society for Customs Agents was decided on at a meeting in Auckland. Representatives were present from the principal ports in the Dominion, Mr. Barton Ginger (Wellington) presiding. The meeting was mainly devoted to the formation of a policy, drawing up rules, and electing officers for the new organisation.
The officers chosen were:—President, Mr. Barton Ginger (Wellington); vicepresidents, Messrs. L. W. Foster (Auckland), H. N. F. Burry (Christchurch); council, Messrs. R. G. Moffitt (Auckland), W. I. J. Blyth (Wellington), T. E. Wiltshire (Christchurch), A. V. Gain (Dunedin), R. F. Jones (Invercargill), H. Grant (Nelson), A. R. Goss (Napier), A. J. Masson (Wanganui).
The society decided to apply for incorporation under the Incorporated Societies Act. An attempt will be made to institute a uniform scale of charges by Customs agents throughout the Dominion. A resolution was adopted in which the society expressed its willingess to co-operate at all times with the Government and Customs Department in any advisory capacity on matters affecting Customs administration.
