WHANGAREI IMPROVEMENTS
During the past year extensive alterations have been cai^ied out to the track of the Whangarei Racmg Club at Kensington Park, Whangarei. The altered track will be in use for the first.time at the Autumn Meeting, to be held tomorrow and on Saturday. The circumference of the track has been lengthened by aboust four chains, and all the turns have "been banked. There is now a straight run out from the six-furlong starting point while the mile post is nearly opposite the stand. Previously a hill on which pine trees were growing blocked the view of part of the track, but this has been removed, and from the stand a complete view of the track is secured. On account of the prolonged dry weather the track is hard, but there is a good sward of grass.
