R. S. BAGBY'S RETURN
The Ellerslie trainer R. S. Bagby, who went to Melbourne early in the year with High Caste, Disdain, and Stretto, returned to the Dominion this week. He brought Disdain back with him, and has sent her to her trainer, L. G. Morris, at Awapuni. Stretto, vyho returned earlier, is still at Ellerslie, but she has completed her racing career and will be sent to Te Awamutu as soon as her owner, Mr. A. J. McGovern, returns from a holiday trip to Australia.
Bagby was keenly disappointed to lose High Caste, who was sold for 7000 guineas soon after his arrival in Australia. High Caste displayed rare brilliance in winning his three races in Melbourne, but Bagby considered that he was much below form when he was beaten at Warwick Farm and Randwick. High Caste turned the tables on Reading, who beat him in the Sires' Produce Stakes, in the Champagne Stakes, but, even so, Bagby thought that he was not as good as when he carried "all before him in Melbourne. Disdain won a race in Melbourne, but her form did not reach the standard expected.
