LADIES' TOURNEY
PLAY AT THE HUTT
The holders of the New Zealand ladies' autumn foursomes championship, Miss H. Griffen (Hutt) and Mrs. Monkman (Hutt) were beaten by Mrs. H. Pearce . (Miramar) and Mrs. A. Treadwell (Hutt) in the second round of the 1939 autumn tourney at the Hutt golf links yesterday afternoon.
There were some long and interesting matches in the second round. Mrs. Marshall (Manor Park) and Mrs. Harman (Hutt) were dormy 4, but Miss Cotterill and Miss Webster (Christchurch) won the next four holes, and the match went to the twenty-first before Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Harman won. Mrs. Davidson (Hutt) and Mrs. Schneider (Miramar) had to go to the twentieth before they could beat Mrs. Rhind (Wellington) and Mrs.' Hewitt (Titahi). j Play continued today.
