"RATHER SERIOUS"
A HOUSEBREAKING CHARGE
OCCUPANT INJURED

When they appeared at the Napier Police Court today on a charge of breaking and entering a dwelling by night, Roy Nicolas Oourlander (24), clerk, of Wellington, apd John Kitching Matterson (30), labourer, Petone, were remanded until April 17 by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., on the! application of Detective-Sergeant H. I Nuttall. "The matter is rathek- serious," said Detective-Sergeant Nuttall. "The occupant of the house has been injured and is at present receiving ( ' medical attention."
The men, he said, were strangers to the town, having arrived in Napier on the night on which the alleged crime was committed. They were arrested at the dwelling at 10.20 p.m. on Monday, following an alarm given by the householder, Kathleen Reston, who surprised them.
