NEW YbRK, April 8.
The Government mveals that Mr. Louis B. Mayer, film producer, was the highest-salaried Ameriban in 1937. He earned 1,296,323 dollars!. '
The highest-paid stars were: —Greta Garbo, 472,602; Marlene Dietrich, 370,000; Joan Craurford, 351,538^ Fredric March, 334,687.
Outside the film industry the highest salaries were earned byf leaders of the automobile industry. General Motors paid its president, Mr. William Knudsen, 247,210 dollars.
