CLAIM SUCCEEDS
Judgment for the plaintiff for £409 9s 3d, less £349 13s 6d already paid, was awarded by the Court of Arbitration to Patrick Ellison, waterside worker, of Wellington, in an action he brought against the Union Steam Ship Co. .Ellison's right hand was caught in the jaws of a grab as he was assisting to tranship coal from the Kartigi to the Terawhiti.
Delivering the judgment of the Court, his Honour Mr. Justice O'Regan said that the Court was satisfied that the defendant company's estimate of 20 per cent* loss. of earning capacity was quite reasonable.
At the hearing, Mr. R. H. Boys appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. C. G. White for the defendant. ,
