EDUCATION OF MOTORISTS
Verbal warnings, advice, and instructions were given to more than 21,000 motorists during the six months ended January 31,, last, stated a report presented at the meeting of the New Zealand Road Safety Council today. These were all cases where the inspectors considered that the circumstances did not warrant prosecution. The steady improvement in the general standard of driving indicated that this policy was successful with the great bulk of motorists, and with the recent increases in the traffic staff an even greater amount of attention would be paid to this aspect in future.
