FATAL INJURIES
ACCIDENT ON WHARF

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day,
When a hook used for drawing a rake of trucks on the wharf at Lyttelton slipped this morning it struck Clarence Harold Jackson, 33, married, a severe blow on the chest, inflicting internal injuries, from which he died in the hospital. Jackson, an employee of the Shaw Savill and Albion Company, was standing near the rake of trucks while the Fordsdale was being unloaded. The hook also" struck .T. Bowling on the leg. He received medical attention at the casualty ward.
