NEW CZECH CURRENCY
ANTI-JEWISH LEGISLATION
(Received March 30, 2.45 p.m.) BRATISLAVA, March 29. A new national currency is being issued, with the unit of one orel corresponding to the value of one Reichsmark. Czech bank-notes are to be withdrawn forthwith.
It is understood that anti-Jewish legislation is being prepared to apply to those not baptised before October 6, 1938. Others will be considered to be Aryans. A decree permits only lawyers resident in Slovakia before October 31, 1938, to practice. The German Party has protested against this on the ground that half their members will be disqualified.
