DUTY ON SUGAR
RUMOUR OF INCREASE
DISCOUNTED BY MINISTER

DUNEDIN, This Day.
A rumour, alleged to originate from a reliable source, is going businesi rounds . that the Government , intends' to increase the excise duty on sugar by a halfpenny, which would give an additional revenue on present consumption of £360,000.
