McCarthy 'Cleague secretary), at a meeting of rtp c esentatives of the Upper Hutt Cricket ; League and the Hutt Valley Cricke fc Association on Tuesday night. The* meeting was primarily called to disc suss the amalgamation of the two bo' jlies. The deterioration, • Mr. McCarthy added, was largely deie to the unsatisfactory state of thet; wickets ?t Maidstone Park. Attempts had been made to come to a satisfactory arrangement with the Upß'er Hutt Borough Council regarding fcjhe preparation of the wickets, but little had been done. In consequence the 'league membership had dropped from 1 J&O to 40. It was his opinion that n imprpvement could be effected the league. • would regain its strength. Messrs. McCarthy; and Francis (Upper Hutt). and Messrs. Wilson and Jones (Hutt VallejF*). were instructed to wait on the 60: rough Council regarding the park w ftckets. E.
