HIRE-PURCHASE RADIOS

Mr. C. Plowman, chairman Airzone (1931), Ltd., Sydney, referring to proposed legislation regarding hire purchase agreements, said that directors would support any attempt to improve the present system, but would oppose any attempt to deprive the public of existing facilities for purchasing radio sets .under hire terms at reasonable interest rates. He did not think reputable radio distributors imposed upon purchasers today any harsh conditions from which the public needed protection. Rather was the boot on the other foot, for unscrupulous purchasers could sometimes procure the use of a radio for long periods without payment of the moneys stipulated under the hire agreement.
