Complete agreement has been reached on the procedure for the evacuation of the Sudeten areas by, the military committee appointed by the international commission. Most important is the decision to establish a neutral zone, approximately a mile and a half wide, in front of each zone while the evacuation is pro- j j ceeding. | Al I movements are to be under rigorous control and strict adherence to timetable. It is reported that every confidence is felt that all the movements will be carried out in an orderly fashion. The occupation is being carried out by the well-disciplined Keichswehr, not by I political troops. j The Ambassadors' conference in Ber- j lin, which is working out details of the cession, has appointed a sub-com-mittee to deal with economic and financial questions, the plebiscite, and frontier delimitation. BRITISH PREPARATIONS. The British "War Office announces that no decision has yet been reached as to whether a force shall be disj patched to Czechoslovakia, but it is making the necessary preparations in the event of such a force being required. Six thousand troops, comprising battalions from the Coldstream, Grenadier, Welsh, and Scots Guards, and a battalion of a line regiment, are expected to go to the Sudetenland. on October 4. The British military observers in the Sudeten areas will be increased from two to six. The special correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" at Prague has been informed that the value of the installations which are considered to be movable amounts to £20,000,000. Since it is impossible to remove the plant in a few days and it must therefore be handed over to Germany, compensation is presumably payable by Germany if the transfer is permitted.
