ORATORY CONTEST
From more than 30 entrants in the Lyon Medal contest, conducted by the Wellington Union of Debating Societies, there were nine finalists selected, and from these Mr.. Byron Brown, the judge, chose last week the winner and place-getters as follows:—Mr. M. M. Davidson, Y.M.G.A. Club, "Kagawa," 92 marks, .1; Mr. R. Scott, Hutt Debating Society, "Socialism," 91 marks, 2; Mr. R. B/ Fofsythe, 22 Club, "Union Jack or Rising Sun," 90 marks, 3.
