TOCH FUNCTION

A guest night held by the schools' section of the Toe H in the Trinity Methodist Hall, Newtown, on Saturday evening attracted a large attendance of parents and friends. The entertainment consisted of several films. During the evening opportunity was taken to present the annual report and- statement of : accounts. The films were of ahigh standard,'some silent and some talking. They included. scenic and industrial subjects, and there was also a highly-interesting and well-photo-graphed picture of life in the German youth camps. After the screening Mr. A. B. Malyon, schools organiser, thanked those who had assisted in the entertainment. Reviewing the financial statement, Mr. Malybn said that there was a small deficit on the 1937-38 camp, held at Resolution Bay. He hoped there would be a good attendance at this year's camp. Other speakers were Mr. E. R. Famlilton, on behalf of the parents, who stressed the advantages of the Toe H movement to boys, and Mr. L. Fitzgerald, for the boys, who described the annual camp, paying a tribute to those in charge of last year's camp. The evening concluded with the Toe H prayer, followed by supper.
