NEW CAGE BIRD CLUB
A large gathering of cage bird fanciers recently met in the Hutt River Board's Chambers, and formed the Hutt Valley Cage Bird Club. The following officers were elected:— President, Dr. H. G. Rix; chairman, Mr. R. W. Gilliand; vice-chairman, Mr. S. G. Pearse; vice-presidents, Messrs. S. J. Sands, August, Fitzgerald, F. S Maloney, Ward, Pearce, and W. H. Smith; secretary, Mr. E. J. Jones; auditor, Mr. G. V. Pearse; treasurer, Mr. A. Freeman; Press steward, Mr. R. W. Gilliand; committee, Messrs. C. Sowman, E. Monks, J. A. R. Pollock, J. Torrance, R. Baker, N. George, and E. Jenkins; Budgerigar Society representatsive, Mr. E. Monks; delegates to Wellington Central committee, Messrs. E. J. Jones, C. Sowman, and R. W. Gilliand; show manager, Mr. R. Bailey; trustees, Messrs. E. J. Jones, A. Free-ian, and R. W. Gilliand. After some discussion it was decided to affiliate with the Federation of Cage Birds.
