A PROMISING PIANIST

Remarkably outstanding was the achievement of a 13-year-old girl, Jane Cullen, of New Milton, Hampshire, England, at the Bournemouth Music Festival held recently. June had the distinction of being the first festival competitor to score full marks when she won the silver medal in pianoforte ear test for competitors under the age of 14. She also carried off the silver medal in the pianoforte class under 14; and was bracketed first with a Bournemouth boy in the senior class for pianoforte duets (two pianos). In addition, June has been chosen with another Milton girl to make up one of two pairs of finalists in the one-piano duet for competitors under the age of 15.
