SYDNEY, This Day. The final gallops for the A.J.C. spring carnival were staged this morning. ' . At Randwick on the grass Rival Hit, who is returning to his best form, ran three furlongs in 37sec. Gold Rod was not extended in covering six furlongs on the tan in lmin 16£ sec. Stretto did seven furlongs on the tan in lmin 31sec, going easily throughput. Royal Chief ran a good mile on the tan in lmin 43sec. At Victoria Park Nightguard went exceptionally well over five furlongs in lmin 32sec. Avenger led Courage over the sariie distance in lmin 4sec, a first-class performance. Nuffield ran a mile. . / '
