AID FOR FARMERS
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N.,- This Day.
The Labour Party was the first to come to the farming community with a message of hope, stated the Hon. P.. Fraser, when speaking in Palmerston North last evening. In respect of the guaranteed priced there were many carping critics who had always been avowed opponents of Labour and who were prepared to sacrifice their own industry, to'try and defeat Labour. Some of those men were leaders in the industry. The Government was not going to give impossible payments to farmers or Civil servants or anybody else. This would endanger its policy and ruin those whom it was intended to benefit. The Government was prepared to do the fair thing, and the price fixed for the present season was one which had exceeded the expectations of the industry.'
