HASTINGS, This Day,

A wedding of widespread interest was solemnised in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, this afternoon, when Meggie Mary, elder daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edric Williams, Hawke's Bay, and niece of Miss Elsie Williams, Frimley, Hastings, was married to James Liversedge, son of Captain and Mrs. Liversedge, Durban, South Africa. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Macdonald at the Sacred Heart Church.

The bride, who was escorted by Mr. A. B. Williams, of Gisborne, wore a short frock of white angel-skin silverthread lame with a shirred corsage finished with a small Peter Pan collar. She wore also a white fox bolero and small bonnet-shaped hat of white flowers with .;a white tulle.., veil, and carried a sheaf bouquet of pink orchids and cyclamen.

The bridesmaids were Miss Christina Williams (sister of the bride) and Miss Mary Rainbow. Each led a little

maid up the aisle of the church, the little girls being Elizabeth Russell and Anna Browning. The older maids wore short frocks of sapphire blue American crepe'cut on simple tailored lines with swathed bodices and flared pleats in the front of the skirts. They wore .blue heart-shaped haloes with white lily Of the'valley in front and blue veils, and carried small sheafs of all white flowers. The two little girls wore-frocks of white American sheer muslin with white accessories.

Mr. Phillip Cross (Wellington) was best man; ahd the ushers at the church were Lieutenant Peter Williams and Mr. David Neilson.

After the ceremony a small reception was held at Frimley, where guests were received by Miss Elsie Williams, who wore a navy and white frock with a spray of cream orchids, and her navy hat was trimmed with white.

For travelling the bride chose.a smart frock of navy blue American crepe with white Swiss lace collar and cuffs and a navy halo hat. Among the guests were. Mr. A. B. Williams and Mr.N H. B. Williams (Gisborne), Sir Andrew and Lady Russell, Mr. and Mrs. John Russell, Mrs. Cyril Williams and Miss Pat Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Browning, Mrs. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. J. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Williams, Colonel W. Neilson and Mrs. Neilson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Kennedy, Mrs. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. J. Williams, Mr. and Mrs.' Jasper Herrick, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Russell (Gisborne), Mrs. Philip Cross (Wellington), Miss Cynthia Jefferd, Messrs. JodE Mackenzie, P. D. and J. Neilson.
