CARDS A CONGRATULATIONS
The weekly card party of the Kilbirnie auxiliary branch' of the i Returned Soldiers' Association was held at the club-rooms, Bay Road, on Tuesday night. The function was well attended, arid the guests settled down to a very pleasant evening. Mrs. A. Pearson and Mr. A. Sharman were the successful bridge competitors,- and Mrs. Calcinai and Mr. L. Dumbleton won the "500" contest.; Competitions were won by Messrs. J. McClatchey and S. Reid. A very nice little epi? spde. took place during the supper interval, when Mrs. McLeod, on behalf of the ladies' auxiliary, presented a bouquet to one of the guests who had that day reached her eightieth birthday. The recipient vwas . given also hearty congratulations by acclamation from the guests.
