TALAVERA TENNIS CLUB'S DANCE Having played tennis in the afternoon, most of the members of the Talavera Municipal Tennis Club attended the opening dance of the season at the Kelburn Kiosk on Saturday evening. Green and gold streamers latticed the windows .of the hall and Chinese lanterns cast a warm glow on the wide verandah, which was used as a rendezvous between dances. The plain and chintz curtains were not drawn so that the lovely view of the city and harbour lights was not obscured. A refreshing supper was served. Mr. V. R. Stace (secretary) was in charge of the arrangements, and his committee included Mrs. Stace, Miss M. Cochrane, Miss M. Ross, the club president, Mr. G. L. Wells, and Messrs. N. Instone, H. Fulford, and O. C. Haynes. SUCCESSFUL HOUSE-PARTY A delightful house-party was given on Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. J. I.
