TENNIS
LOCAL MANAGEMENT
It was decided at last night's meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association to contribute £2 10s each towards the expenses of Misses Mary Hardcastle and Thelma Rice, New South Wales players, for their stay here when they will compete in the Wellington championships. Both will afterwards go on to the. New Zealand tournament. at Christchvirch. N. Sturt, Auckland, and H. N. F. Bedford, who is also now in Auckland, will be competing at the Wellington championships, it was stated, and there seemed to be every likelihood of a strong field. A. D. Brown and J. Mayson and probably two women players from Auckland, when passing through to the New Zealand tournament, may also play here.
