The balance sheets of the several dairy companies operating in the Manawatu and Horowhenua reveal the value of the industry to the farming community of those districts. The gross production, before the deduction of manufacturing costs, of 15 major factories realised £1,556,153. Advances to suppliers, including final payments, aggregated £1,392,535.
