SPANISH RELIEF
DESTINATION OF GRANT
When Mr. H. S. S. Kyle (National, Riccarton), in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, asked for information concerning a grant of £2000 towards the relief of Spanish refugee children, the Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) interjected that this money had been paid into the funds of the International Commission through the High Commissioner in London. This fund, Mr. Fraser added, had been sponsored by the British Government. t. Mr. Kyle replied that he was pleased to have this assurance. He had been under the impression that it might have gone to another organisation that j was not fully qualified to . distribute the money equitably. The Leader of tht Opposition (the Hon. A. Hamilton):. Were the children who were in need living in Spain or in England? The Minister of Internal Affairs (the |Hon. W. E. Parry): They were in Spain, Mr. Hamilton: Is Britain interested to ithat extent?
