THE HOSPITAL
NEW VISITING HOURS
The request of the matron that the visiting days at the Wellington Hospital be limited to four weekly instead of six, was agreed to by the Hospital Board last night.
It was pointed out by the matron that the work of the medical and nursing staffs is very much handicapped by the present system of allowing visitors to the wards every day of the week, except Monday, and it is felt that in the interests of the patients the visiting hours, should be reduced. For patients who are on the seriously ill list special visiting permits would remain as at present, otherwise visiting hours should be strictly adhered to.
The visiting hours were reduced to the following:—Sundays, 2.30 to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays, 7 to 7.45 p.m.; Thursdays, 3 to 4 p.m.; Saturdays, 7 to 7.45 p.m.
