LOSS OF £81,000

FOUR WEEKS' WORKING

An abstract of railway working accounts, gazetted last night, covering the four-weekly period ending July 23, shows that the gross revenue for the four weeks was £585,516, which was £3264 more than a year ago. Expenses were increased by £61,639 to £666,787. The working loss of £81,271 compares with a loss of £22,897 during the corresponding period of the previous year. The gross revenue was £90,808 and the expenditure £70,132. For the period from April 1 to July 2 3the net revenue was £44,114, compared with £171,500 last year, a decrease of £127,386. The gross revenue was £2,692,995, an increase of £105,418. The expenditure was £2,648,881, an increase of £232,804.
