INDIANS WIN 2-0

TIMARU, July 7.
The Indian hockey team beat South Canterbury today by two goals to nil. The ground wasthe worst on which the visitors have played, being almost a sea of mud as a result pt recent heavy rain and a frost. In the circumstances good hockey was out 6i the question, but the home team put up a stubborn defence and their display was classed by the visitors as the best given against them on the tour in similar conditions.
There was no score, at half-time, but in the second half Abdul Latif scored and Sultan Khaifgoaled from a penalty bully. *.
