OTAKI RAILWAY CLUB
The annual meeting of the Otaki Railway Bowling Club was held on Tuesday night, Mr. A. D. Webster, president, presiding. Some thirty members were present, and another twenty proposed. The balance-sheet showed that the green was now practically freehold property, some £114 18s 2d being raised by special effort, such as tournaments, gala days, etc. The report was very encouraging, and prospects for the coming season are particularly bright. The matter of securing power for the green was h'eld over, but it is hoped to secure an electric lawn-mower at no distant date. The president paid a compliment to the efficient officers who had worked so hard during the season. The following officers were elected for the season: —Patron, Mr. C. F. Atmore (re-elected); president, Mr. A. D. Webster (re-elected); vice-president, Mr. E. P. Edwards; hon. secretary, Mr. Eric Tooby« (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. A. Knox; auditor, Mr. J. D. Avery (reelected); committee, Messrs. F. Rule, A. Furse, T. Stevens, J. Southgate, C. Evans, T. Parata, and W. Ralph; green superintendent, Mr. Webster; competitions organisers, Messrs. J. Quinn. and T Parata; selection committee, Messrs. M. Symonds, A. D. Webster, and H. Searancke; delegate to centre, Mr. J. Newson (re-elected); ladies' committee (left to the general committee to elect).
