MOLYNEUX DREDGE
LOW WATER CAUSES STOPPAGE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 7. Due to the low level of the river, caused through heavy frosts in the back country, the Molyneux Gold Dredging Company's dredge ceased operating on Tuesday night. The continuance of frosts and the consequent fall in the river make dredging dangerous on the present site because the modern metal pontoons cannot risk going aground on the rocky bottom of the river.
The Clutha Company's machine is not affected and is still working.
