A FRONTIER PLAY.
Egbert , Slierwqod's Pulitzer ; Prize playj, "Idiot's Delight" has been presented in London by Raymond Mas; sey and Henry Sherek, with Mr. Massey himself in the chief role, ihat of a "hoofer" isolated in a frontier hotel with a crowd of theatricals. Audiences' at the Opqllb, London, saw in its development,' an indictment ~of contemporary trends. Though actual warfare is not introduced into the story, there is much that is inferential. Mr. Sherwood wrote as a postscript, pririted in the American edition .of the iwork, "What will happen before this :play reaches print or.a.New.York'&udience', I do not know." The play has value as well as a deeper ' interest. Mr. Massey's portrait is that of a professional dancer' touring the Continent with a troupe of girls. At a mountain resort he meets an exotic Russian, played by Tamara : Geya, with whom he was previously acquainted, though they have both alforgotten the fact. Their love story, tender and comic, is set against a- background of events s in neighbouring countries
